A group of juniors and seniors at a local Kingston, Ontario, high school will gain valuable work experience building a set of eight tiny homes in Amherstview as part of the school’s Building Construction Internship Program. These high school students from across Kingston participate in the program to learn skills in the various trades.
Each tiny home will feature one bedroom, one bathroom, a kitchen and living room, with full plumbing and electricity and will go to an unhoused person in Kingston. The tiny homes project began in February with that semester’s group of students and will move forward each semester with the new class of students picking up where the last one left off. This group hopes to complete two homes before moving on to the next semester.
