In Their Words

CN: What is something happening at your mission that you are most grateful for?

Overcoming Abuse God's Way : I am most grateful for seeing the transformation of leaders and those in need of support understand how childhood abuse begins and how to overcome its effects by leaders becoming more aware, seeing signs and thus being more compassionate/passionate to minister to those in their midst.

Likewise, I love seeing the transformation of those in need gaining understanding and strength through the practical application of the Gospel of Jesus Christ as we share the Gospel with our personal stories of victory. To see the hearts of those in need sense the presence of God is truly amazing. I believe with all my heart when they return week after week the primary need is their desire to experience the presence of God. I share with our leaders, when the hopeless come to us, they come to Christ in us. Jeremiah 31:3 I have loved you, my people with an everlasting love. With unfailing love I have drawn you to myself. Truly, truly God is near to the brokenhearted. Psalms 34:18-22 The LORD is close to the brokenhearted; he rescues those whose spirits are crushed. The righteous person faces many troubles, but the LORD comes to the rescue each time.

CN: What is something you are looking forward to and/or praying for?

Overcoming Abuse God's Way : Overcoming Abuse God's Way is a division of Global Global that was birthed in 2008, June. Since then, we have planted support groups around the county and in Africa. As of 2024, we are looking forward to and praying for our Overcoming Abuse God's Way eLearning course to launch by the end of the summer to include a continuing education hour in the hopes of those too embarrassed or uncomfortable to attend a group, or those in a likeminded professional career, will take the course for TRANSFORMATION.

CN: In what ways has being a Citygate Network member been a resource to you and your team?

Overcoming Abuse God's Way : Citygate Network - previously the AGRM when I became a member - has had an enormous impact on me personally as the Founder and CEO of Global Gogirl. The divisions of Global Gogirl are: Global Institute of Hope eLearning, Global Rescue: Healing from Human Trafficking, and Overcoming Abuse God’s Way.

Early on, I knew I was in the company of those men and women, called by God to heal the brokenhearted and bind up their wounds by caring, loving with the love of Christ, supporting for the sake of salvation which leads to hope, which leads to healing and ultimately restoration.

Citygate Network has supported myself and our organization by inviting me to write an article in Instigate magazine; teach at a regional conference and a break-out session at the annual conference; and train various staff and volunteers at member Rescue Missions. These and other encounters remind me of the value of what we do. Since we are a small ministry/organization doing HUGE WORK the support and endorsements, if you will, have been a kiss from heaven only God can give. THANK YOU CITYGATE NETWORK FOR INVESTING IN ALL the member missions. My/Our hearts are most grateful!
