CN: What is something happening at your mission that you are most grateful for?
Safe Harbor of NC: I am most grateful for our staff. They consistently go above and beyond in serving our guests and take a proactive approach in identifying and removing barriers. I am incredibly proud of the dedication and teamwork approach they exhibit every day.
CN: What is something you are looking forward to and/or praying for?
Safe Harbor of NC: I am looking forward to our January 22nd event - “Camping for a Cause”. This event was originally inspired by our staff and we are excited to build on it by adding a version of “Conversations on a Bench”. During this immersive experience, our staff will be spending the night in tents, cars, and outdoors. We will also invite guests to join us for an immersive experience - hoping to better understand the challenges of remaining outside overnight in the winter. We’re planning to invite Community Partners to set up display tables, creating an opportunity to raise awareness and foster deeper collaboration within our community. Our hope is that it’s an event that not only connects people but raises funds, promotes meaningful conversations, and fosters actions.
CN: In what ways has being a Citygate Network member been a resource to you and your team?
Safe Harbor of NC: Citygate is rich with information, knowledge, and experience. It brings together like-minded organizations that truly understand the challenges we face. Beyond offering practical solutions, Citygate also provides a deep understanding of our daily work and the unique obstacles we encounter. It is a powerful resource that helps us navigate our mission with greater insight and support.
The 300+ organizations in Citygate Network membership seek to move people in desperate situations and destitute conditions (i.e., hungry, homeless, abused, and addicted) from human suffering to human flourishing through the process of gospel-powered life transformation.
