Womens Recovery Director
Position: Program Director Charis House Women's Residential Addiction Recovery Program Location: Ministry Village at Olive in Pensacola, FL
Position Overview: We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Program Director to lead and manage our Women's Residential Christian Addiction Recovery Program. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of Christian principles, addiction recovery, and a heart for helping women find healing and transformation through faith-based recovery. As the Program Director, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the program, ensuring its smooth operation, and providing guidance and support to program participants.
Key Responsibilities Program Leadership Develop and implement a comprehensive program structure that integrates Christian teachings with evidence-based recovery strategies. Create a supportive and nurturing environment that promotes spiritual growth, emotional healing, and personal development for program participants. Lead regular group sessions, workshops, and activities that address various aspects of addiction recovery, personal growth, and faith. Participant Support Conduct intake assessments and interviews to determine the suitability of potential participants for the program. Provide individualized support and guidance to participants, fostering a sense of community and accountability within the program. Offer counseling and mentorship to participants, helping them navigate challenges and facilitating their spiritual and emotional healing. Spiritual Guidance Integrate Christian teachings, Bible study, prayer, and worship into the program curriculum to encourage participants' spiritual growth. Lead or arrange for guest speakers, pastors, and mentors to provide spiritual guidance and teachings. Collaboration Collaborate with the program's support staff, including medical professionals, therapists, and counselors, to ensure holistic care for participants. Maintain open communication with families, referring organizations, and stakeholders to provide updates on participant progress. Actively engages in community events as a spokesperson for Charis House and provides information regarding the program and how it changes clients lives. For the program participants that are on probation, collaborate with probation officers to assist the client with successfully completing their terms of supervision. Develop strong networking relationships with public defenders, attorneys, jails, prisons, and other similar programs.
Administration Maintain accurate and confidential participant records, progress reports, and case notes. Monitor program budget, expenses, and resources, and make recommendations for improvements or adjustments as needed. Selects, hires, and participates in the training and development of new team members. Has responsibility for other personnel matters (i.e., disciplinary action, counseling for clients and staff, etc.) Ensure transportation needs are met for each client. (Doctors, probation, court, etc.) Monitor all incoming and outgoing mail and phone calls. Teach classes as needed. Enforce rules established by the program and give corrections to clients with Godly love and compassion. Document infractions, review rules and consequences with clients.
Training and Development Stay current with the latest research and best practices in addiction recovery and Christian counseling as evidenced by earning continuing education credits (CEUs). Provide ongoing training and development opportunities for program staff and volunteers to ensure high-quality care and support. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in psychology, counseling, social work, theology, or a related field (Master's degree preferred). Minimum of 2 years experience in related position. Positive attitude, strong personal relationship with Jesus Christ. Compatible theology with the Southern Baptist Convention. Experience in addiction recovery, counseling, or related field. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Empathetic, compassionate, and non-judgmental approach. Ability to lead group sessions, workshops, and discussions. Organizational and administrative skills. Previous experience in program management or leadership is a plus. Ability to work collaboratively with a diverse team of professionals and volunteers. Pass a background check for violent or sexual crimes. Valid driver license and insurable under MVO/CH policy.
