Case Manager for Men's Recovery Services

The Case Manager will function alongside the team of staff to help create a safe, healing environment at the Ascent Program for men seeking recovery. This position provides case management, spiritual support, information, referrals, and other services to program guests. This is a full-time (40 hours weekly) non-exempt role with an hourly pay range between $19.83 to $23.56 DOE.

Compensation to Include: PTO (120 hours per year) & Paid-holidays (92 hours per year), Medical, Dental, Vision, and Life Insurance for employee; 403(b) contribution and match up to 5%, Employee Assistance Program, Paid Training, and Education Reimbursement. Responsibilities:
-Manage a caseload of guests in the Ascent program.
-Meet with guests weekly and maintain all electronic and paper client files.
-Provide and facilitate an environment that relationally shares with guests the full range of resources available to assist them in overcoming the conditions that cause homelessness.
-Maintain timely and accurate documentation regarding daily shelter events, incident reports, attendance, medication and mandatory reporting.
-Initiate and maintain open communication with LMM co-workers and guests.
-Foster and maintain a safe, clean and sober environment. -Administer urinalysis and breathalyzers for accountability and safety as needed.
-Help prepare rooms for new guests by cleaning, doing laundry, etc.
-Oversee reception functions including phones, security cameras, greeting, and the intake process.
-Properly handle guest communication, including phone messages.
-Facilitate classes as needed and lead prayer and Christian devotionals.
-Attend all training and staff meetings.
-Always ensure the highest level of Gospel hospitality is experienced at the Ascent Program.
-Maintain a positive, pleasant, and professional attitude.
-Work with other staff to model transparent and supportive Christian relationships, which will serve as a leadership example for shelter guests.
-Comply with all standard operating procedures and emergency procedures appropriate to the site.
-Maintain confidentiality in all communication and referrals and utilize the Release of Information form.
- Embrace and use LMMs grace-based accountability philosophy. Maintain a positive, pleasant, and professional work attitude. Work with other staff to model transparent and supportive Christian relationships, which will serve as a leadership example for shelter guests.
-Oversee, encourage and train volunteers and interns as needed.
-Maintain class schedules and assist with Genesis counseling.
-Other job-related duties as assigned by the supervisor.


Organizational Relationships:
Works alongside a team of Ascent staff, volunteers, and interns.
Represents LMM, and specifically the Ascent Program, to other social service agencies.
Reports directly to the Director of Men's Recovery Services.


Qualifications: One year of experience in Case Management (or similar), Associate's or Bachelor's Degree in Human Services, and/or lived experience strongly preferred and considered in place of formal degree. Or a combination of education, work, and lived experience that demonstrates the ability to effectively perform the essential functions of the job.

-A passion for serving Jesus and making the Gospel known through mercy ministry. The successful candidate will have an active church/prayer life.
-Have knowledge of and preferably lived experience with issues of homelessness, poverty, addiction, domestic violence and recovery.
-Ability to interact effectively and build rapport as a team member and independently with LMM staff and with a diverse client base. Sensitivity to cultural diversity in all forms is required.
-Able to use judgment to make independent decisions.
-High boundary setting and self-reflection skills preferred.
-Ability to remain calm and calm others in an emergency and/or confrontational situations.
-Effective interpersonal communication skills--both written and oral--for communication with co-workers, guests, and outside agencies.
-Ability to use MS Word, Excel, Gmail, and Google Calendar.
-Ability to report as regularly scheduled to work site.
-Ability to successfully pass pre-employment criminal background screenings.
-Agreement with the Lighthouse Mission's Statement of Faith and Lifestyle Commitment.


Physical Demands and Environmental Conditions:
-Standing 30%; walking 30%; sitting 40%.
-Medium to heavy lifting, up to 30 lbs.
-Possible exposure to a variety of illnesses.
-Ability to rapidly deal with emergency situations. Intermittent high stress environment.
