Children Learning Center Coordinator
Purpose of Position: The purpose of the Children’s Learning Center Coordinator position at the Evansville Rescue Mission is to provide a nurturing and educational environment for children from families experiencing homelessness or crisis. This role is dedicated to fostering the holistic development of children through engaging programming that promotes learning, social skills, and emotional well-being.
Duties and Responsibilities: · Work with other departments through communication, reports, meetings, etc. to make sure all are working together in unity with the general purposes and goals of Evansville Rescue Mission. This includes informing the ED of the status of present ministries and future needs.
· Participate in the Women of Worth (WOW), Education Advisory, and Staff Chat meetings.
· Collaborate with teachers/volunteers to create learning plans and programs that meet state and federal mandates.
· Interview and train teachers and volunteers. Ensure background checks and fingerprint screenings.
· Delivery of Brightwheel lesson plans and assessments
· Maintain a safe and well-stocked environment by regularly checking safety equipment, checking for hazards and to ensure cleanliness and orderliness.
· Provide referrals and resource information for residents to other agencies/ministries
· Maintain the intake waitlist and call clients when rooms are available
· Interact with other agencies for the purpose of joining forces to improve services to the homeless children and to advocate on their behalf.
· Complete other duties as assigned.
· Provide a professional and compassionate Christian witness to all residents including prayer and sharing the Gospel
· Maintain a high level of confidentiality when working with residents and records
· Provide a respectful and considerate relationship with each resident regardless of race, gender, age, appearance or circumstances
Qualifications: · Have a desire to serve as a ministry lead with a compassionate heart to those currently experiencing homelessness.
· Have a BA degree in Social Sciences/Business Administration, Human Resources, or other related fields and/or three years of experience in administration.
· Must have communication and organization skills with projects and people.
· Must have computer skills.
· Must have a committed relationship with Jesus Christ and belong to a body of believers.
