GRANT OFFICER

Position Title: Grant Officer
Reports to: Vice President of Development
Job Classification: Full-time; Exempt
Salary Range: $57,900 - $80,000 annually

At multiple locations throughout our community, we help restore the lives of people experiencing homelessness and addiction through emergency services, rehabilitation, transitional programs, and community outreach.

The Opportunity:
The Grant Officer (GO) will be responsible for raising vital funding to help the Mission fulfill its vision of ending homelessness - one life at a time in the Denver Metro area and Northern Colorado by maintaining current funder relationships, seeking new opportunities through research, and developing and writing compelling grant applications. In addition, the Grant Officer will work closely with the program and operations team to understand goals, results and outcomes, and with the finance team to create and present budgets.

Responsibilities will include but not be limited to:

GENERAL DUTIES:
*Research potential private, community, corporate and family foundations and government agencies, both local and national, to find appropriate funding matches for Denver Rescue Mission (DRM) for general operations, existing and new programs, or capital projects.
*Develop and write letters of intent (LOIs) and grant proposals to current and potential funders, ensuring annual and special project/capital campaign fundraising goals are met.
*Maintain a written planning calendar in Salesforce outlining the proposal and reporting due dates.
*Forge and maintain strong relationships with funding partners at foundations and government agencies in coordination with members of the Mission's Senior Leadership Team and the Relational Giving Team.
*Schedule site visits and assist with tours.
*In partnership with the Director of Compliance and Impact, conduct post grant analysis on grants awarded to ensure adequate follow up and timely submission of midterm and final reports as required, and that specific restricted grant requirements are met.
*Work closely with DRM Accounting staff to create specific program budget breakouts to accommodate foundation and funding agency requirements.
*Maintain regular communication with the VP of Development and appropriate program and operations staff to identify funding needs of the Mission and report on progress made on the developing grant proposals.
*Attend appropriate program and staff meetings.
*Lead monthly Grants calendar meeting with fellow staff from Programs, Accounting, and Impact teams.
*Work in coordination with external vendor(s) when additional grant writing capacity is needed.
*Attend ongoing training and conferences related to the grants field and maintain a working knowledge of the current funding landscape in metro Denver and Northern Colorado.
*Additional duties, as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
*Three years of experience working with private and corporate foundations, and/or grant development and grant proposal writing or equivalent.
*Four-year degree required. Extensive relevant experience may be substituted for a degree.
*Must be highly organized and possess the ability to conduct extensive research, think strategically and analyze funder objectives and Request for Proposals.
*Must have excellent written, verbal and in-person communication skills to be successful in this position.
*Solid understanding of nonprofit financial statements and budgets.
*Approaches work with a high degree of collaboration both internally and externally.
*Excellent computer skills with knowledge of Salesforce or similar customer relationship management system(s).
*Must have an Active Driver's License as a limited amount of work-related travel will be required.
*Must be a Christian holding to the beliefs set forth in the Statement of Faith, expressed by a personal testimony and Christian conduct.
