Save the Dates for AGRM’s CEO Summit AGRM’s annual CEO Sum- mit is headed to Nashville this year. The event will be held August 28–30 at the Holiday Inn Express Nashville Downtown. CEOs: It’s more important than ever for you to net- work with your peers, so set aside those dates (plus travel days) to make sure you can attend. Is Your Mission Certified? More than 50 missions within AGRM are currently certified, with more missions working to gain certification. Certifica- tion demon- strates a commitment to excellence that’s noticed by donors and others. The certification process also mitigates expo- sure to potential legal and liability problems, which can earn the ministry significant discounts on insurance premiums, particularly when the mission is part of AGRM’s rescue mission insurance program. DC Forum Participants Make Progress in Washington AGRM members from across the U.S. met on Capitol Hill in March as part of AGRM’s annual DC Forum. They held meetings with lawmakers and staff members from their states from both the Senate and House of Representatives, talking about issues critical to nonprofits—particularly organizations that are meeting the needs of poor and pow- erless people. The group of 40 participants also met with Congressman Kevin McCarthy (R-CA), who serves as House Majority Leader. Additionally, AGRM President John Ashmen and others forged important inroads with HUD and made connections with Vice President Mike Pence’s office. The time together in Washington was very constructive, as the leaders of member ministries expressed concerns and had those issues validated by key leaders. This event should be a sta- ple on the calendars of rescue mission leaders every year.
